AB CUBE NEWS: New strategic partnership with PV software leader BaseCon
We’re pleased to announce that we have formed a strategic partnership with BaseCon, the leading Danish provider of PV software solutions. As two leading specialist companies for vigilance software solutions in Europe, AB Cube and BaseCon share similar ‘DNA’ and an aligned vision on technology, innovation and customer support. Given our close synergies, we have now decided to join forces and offer all BaseCon clients the opportunity to move to AB Cube’s SafetyEasy® Suite solution – in a project fully supported by both companies to ensure a seamless and smooth transition.
Many BaseCon clients have already decided to benefit from this partnership and are successfully onboarding with AB Cube. Everyone in our team would like to warmly welcome our new SafetyEasy® users, and we look forward to helping more customers make the switch to our best-in-class PV solution.
Regulatory update: Swissmedic moves to E2B(R3)
Swissmedic – Switzerland’s national authorisation and supervisory authority for drugs and medical products – recently informed all MAHs about plans to migrate its ICSR submission systems from E2B(R2) to E2B(R3) format. The transition to the new reporting process is expected to begin by the end of September 2024.
The Electronic Vigilance System (ElViS) cannot be adapted to the R3 format, so all MAHs currently using ElViS and able to exchange ICSRs in E2B(R3) are being recommended to migrate to the Swiss B2B Gateway. Further information about this regulatory change is available here.
AB Cube continues to support our customers through the changing regulatory environment, and we’re pleased to announce that our first customer user of the Swiss Gateway smoothly moved to production in May 2024.

INDUSTRY DATAPOINT: Pharmacovigilance market set for strong growth
According to figures released by Grand View Research, the global pharmacovigilance market – evaluated at USD 7.32 billion in 2023 – is expected to reach USD 11.78 billion by 2030, growing at a predicted CAGR of 6.8% from 2024 to 2030.
Major drivers for this strong growth trend in the pharmacovigilance market include the rising prevalence of chronic disease, increasing incidence of ADR and drug toxicity, increased externalization of clinical trial studies by large pharma and biopharmaceutical companies, and the growing regulatory burden on manufacturers.
